Male Ydna Test Results: Q1, Q, R1b
The Q line is said to come from the Atlai Mountains in Turkey.
These three haplogroups all split off from P. Q split off in Central Asia. Some Qs must have moved into Siberia and then across into the Americas and then became Q3s on the other side.
In Europe there are two types of Qs found in the British Isles and Scandinavia. A few were found in France and England. None of these types are at all common in Lithuania, where possible my grandfather, Nathan Goldfoot came from, though all we know is that he came from "Russia", which covers a large territory. He had married Hattie from Lithuania/Poland, in Suwalki. Q's are more prevelant in the southern part of Central Asia around the Black Sea and across the Mediterranean coast.
So from our mother and father, we carry the Ydna "Q" from East Asia, and the mtDNA "H" from West Eurasia.
The male R1b comes from Western Eurasia and East Asia.
